You’re sure to love the wildlife cruise out to sea, and may even spot the local seals. Away from the water’s edge, you can visit the independent shops and market, the historic buildings, and of course our numerous traditional pubs! The last weekend in August is Royal Regatta time, when the whole town is out to enjoy the river races, funfair and Red Arrows air display. |
Within easy reach by bus or car lie numerous attractions including leisure parks, wildlife centres, beaches, and country villages. Across the river by ferry lies Torbay, with its waterpark and busy nightlife. Away from the towns one can find many beautiful rural walks in the area, and the wilderness of Dartmoor, popular with walkers and climbers, is close by. The city of Plymouth hosts the National Marine Aquarium, whilst Exeter has one of the country’s most beautiful cathedrals. |
